Seen awaiting departure at 1725hrs on Saturday 29th October 2022 to Middleton in Teesdale, County Durham, is YJ05 JWN, a 2005 Optare Solo, new to Rossendale Transport and latterly operated by Scarlet Band Bus & Coach Limited. Owing to contract changes starting on the 30th October, this was the last Scarlet Band departure on this service, as the contract was awarded to another operator. It was on this day that Scarlet Band Bus & Coach Limited ceased operations, this bus being the final bus to return to the depot at 1915hrs, bringing to an end 101 years of service by Scarlet Band.

This was possibly the first time this bus has operated services out of Barnard Castle, and probably the last, as its' operator, Scarlet Band Bus & Coach Limited, ceases to trade after services on Saturday 29th October 2022.233
