PCN 762 1964 AEC Routemaster Park Royal H41/31F New to Northern General Transport, Gateshead, England, registered RCN 699, with fleet number 2099. After service with Northern, it passed to Stevensons, Derby then onto Stagecoach in Scotland, originally just for spares after a front end accident. Stagecoach repaired it and returned it to service, where it lost its' original registration. After withdrawal by Stagecoach, it was bought by the managing director of Go North East, the current name for Northern General Transport and "returned home". On his untimely passing, it passed into the care of the North East Bus Preservation Trust who, in turn, have loaned it back to Northern. In order to increase capacity on services around busy times during this pandemic, 2099 has returned to public service, albeit currently planned for one journey morning and afternoon between Chester le Street and Newcastle upon Tyne on service 21.
