DBY 401 1932 Leyland TS4 Debono B40F New to Charltons' Blue Safety Coaches, Hebburn, England, registered UP 7220, for use on services from the North East to London. Company taken over by United Automobile Services, Darlington, County Durham, England and this coach was downgraded to a service bus and given fleet number LT89. Requisitioned by The Admiralty iin 1942 and exported to Malta for use by Royal Navy personnel between the Port and Valletta. Sold after the war to a private bus operator, it was the only bus to be operated still in its' half cab configuration, lasting in this guise until rebodied by Debono in 1965. In 2011, when the Maltese Public Transport system changed, this bus was the oldest bus in continuous service on Malta. Purchased for preservation in 2015, it is photographed before going into storage in England on 16th April 2016.
